PURPOSE: To allow continuous smelting reduction operations by providing a reaction receiving mechanism on the side wall in the upper part of the tap hole of a furnace, opening the tap hole by a guiding means and a rod for boring and turning a mud gun toward the tap hole after tapping.
CONSTITUTION: A base plate 11 is positioned to the front surface of the tap hole 10 at the time of tapping of the smelting reduction furnace. A pawl 29a of a 1st hacker 29 is detained to an upper pin 28 of a reaction receiving fitting 27 provided on the side wall 1b and a pawl 32a of a 2nd hacker 32 is detained to a lower pin 28 '. A 1st truck 15 is moved and is positioned on the extension line of the tap hole 10 and while the rod 20 for boring is turned, a 2nd truck 19 is advanced to open the tap hole 10. The molten iron in the furnace is discharged in the upright state of the furnace body 1. A 1st hydraulic cylinder 26 is operated to turn a mud gun 23 after tapping to push the mud into the tap hole 10 and to close the tap hole 10.
