Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a hatch cover opening and closing mechanism in simple form by pouring water into the hatch covers and allowing the hatch covers to be opened and closed by the utilization of the weight imbalance generated between the hatch covers. CONSTITUTION:A chain 13 revolved by two sprocket wheels is installed onto the sides of hatch covers A and B. When the chain 13 moves, the hatch covers are opened and closed by the driving arms 14a and 14b installed onto the hatch covers A and B. When water is poured into one A of the hatch covers A and B, a weight difference is generated between the both hatch covers A and B, and the cover A starts lowering. As the cover A lowers, the cover B shifts upward through the chain 13, and the hatch cover is put into opened state.
