PURPOSE: To eliminate a digging-up work of a buries pipe and increase the efficiency of repair work, by automatically operating by a remote control on the ground 8 when repairing buried pipes having branches in the underground by use or lining materials.
CONSTITUTION: An opening cutter 5 for pipe wall is constituted of traveling legs 5b, fixed support legs 5c, an opening unit 5f, a rotary means 5d, and a transfer means 5e of the opening unit 5f. The opening unit 5f is provided with a freely tumbling base seat 5g, a rotary disc 5h, a cutter 5k, and a detector 5m measuring the distance between the cutter blade position and the inner wall of a branch pipe 2. The opening cutter 5 for pipe wall is positioned and fixed at the bifurcating position of the branch pipe in the trunk pipe 1. Subsequently, the cutter 5k is transferred to a cutting spot by the rotary means 5d and the transfer means 5e and inserted in the cut hole of the branch pipe 2 and then the transfer means 5e is actuated to approach the inside wall of the branch pipe 2 while cutting the lining 1a. Then a detector dog 51 contacts the inside wall of branch pipe 2 and the transfer means 5e stops. In this way, the lining is cut up to a specified position and the cutter stops.
