Abstract:

PURPOSE: To have a flow coursed down characteristic which eases the thermal transient phenomenon of a nuclear reactor, by performing smooth flow control of a coolant for a high-speed breeder reactor by a main electromagnetic pump at the time of ordinary operation, and securing a necessary amount of flow by an emergency power source and flowing the coolant in from a reservoir tank according to circumstances, at the time of power loss.

CONSTITUTION: By providing a large-capacity electromagnetic pump 2 and a small-capacity electromagnetic pump 3 arranged in series to the coolant passage 1 of a high-speed breeder reactor, a reservoir tank 5 for a coolant 4 united with the coolant passage 1 through a valve 6, and a power controller 8 for supplying adjustable power to the large-capacity electromagnetic pump 2 from a normal power source 7, power is supplied from an emergency power source 10 to the small-capacity electromagnetic pump 3, and the coolant 4 is supplied to the coolant passage 1 from the reservoir tank 5.
