To provide an operating device easy in adjusting holding force of a permanent magnet.
A second yoke 5 has a yoke body 5a and a permanent magnet 5b. An additional yoke 18 made of a magnetic steel sheet is provided to form a circuit magnetically parallel to the yoke body 5a. The second yoke 5 is combined with the first yoke 1 to hold a moving member 2 by being attached to the upper yoke 1a or the lower yoke 1b of the first yoke 1 by magnetic flux generated by the permanent magnet 5b. Since the magnetic flux generated by the permanent magnet 5b passes through the yoke body 5a and the additional yoke 18 in parallel, magnetic resistance is changed by adjusting the cross section of the additional yoke 18, and variations of the attracting and holding force of the moving member 2 caused by variations in the manufacturing of an operating device are adjusted. The holding force can be easily adjusted by changing the thickness of the additional yoke 18. Also, a force by which the moving member 2 is attracted to the lower yoke 1b can be adjusted by changing the thickness of an L-shaped spacer 11.
