PURPOSE: To obtain an operating device which is extremely easy and small in size and with high use efficiency by providing an operation part with a key for improving the use efficiency in addition to a display part and function keys.
CONSTITUTION: For example, when a display state is a standard mode, modes in mode areas PS1, PS2, and PS3 are registered. Access in mode PS1 "trimming and 100% variable power" is permitted by a key input and this mode PS1 is stored in areas of a main mode and a basic mode. The input of PS1 is inhibited even if the input is tried once more. Further,even when a preset key corresponding to a mode memory stored with no mode such as PS4, the key input is not permitted. For varying only the magnification, when "152" for 152% is inputted on a ten-key numeric pad with a lift key, the main mode change to "trimming and 152% variable power". Therefore, a preset key is pressed to register a preset mode PS4 for PS4.
