Title:
OPERATING METHOD OF COOLING TOWER AND COOLING TOWER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3933401
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure an outdoor air flow rate per unit area of a filler corresponding to the quantity of water being sprayed to the filler in the spray region even if the region of filler being sprayed is limited by reducing the spray region of an upper water tank, and to stabilize the cooling capacity even at an unusable wet-bulb temperature lower than the ice point when the filler is entirely sprayed with water.
SOLUTION: Immediately before sprayed water shows a trend of freezing under a state where the sprayed water stands only in recessed parts on the surface of a filling plate through surface tension and the contact area with outdoor air flow is decreased, water is sprayed only to the central region of the filling plate in order to increase the thickness of a water film and louver blades 18 at the left and right outdoor air inlets 16 and 17 are fully closed. Under that state, a fan is rotated at an r.p.m. identical to that when the louver blades 18 are fully opened thus supplying outdoor air flow from an outdoor air inlet 29 only through the central region of a space 21. The space 21 prevents water drops from adhering to the louver blades 18 at the central outdoor air inlet 29 and freezing.
