Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce the size and the cost of an inverter device by weakening a field of an MHD generator in case of starting to suppress the output voltage to a low value, thereby omitting a load resistance and eliminating the necessity of providing many taps in an insulating transformer. CONSTITUTION:When a field controller 101 receives a starting command, the field current of a field coil 12 becomes a considerably low level current as compared with the rated field current value, and becomes a weak field. An inverter device 20 is started by an inverter controller 201. After starting, a field controller 101 controls to enhance the field current to the rated field current value. When stopping the inverter device 20, the current of a field coil 12 is reduced and controlled by the controller 101, becomes a weak field, and the controller 201 reduces and controls the current of the inverter device 20.
