PURPOSE: To have excellent discharging performance and self-discharging characteristics by consolidating layers chiefly containing electrode material and binder with a layer chiefly containing electrolyte and binder, wherein consolidation is performed at a temp. over the melting point of the binder while pressure is applied, and by releasing pressurization at a temp below the melting temp.
CONSTITUTION: Layers chiefly containing electrode material and binder are arranged on both sides while a layer mainly containing electrolyte and binder put in the middle, and they are consolidated by heating. This consolidation is made under pressure at a temp. over the melting point of the binder, followed by depressurization after below the melting point is attained while pressurization is held. Battery is obtained in the condition in which the layers of electrode and electrolyte are attached firmly, and any minor degree of expansion likely to occur during charging/discharging is suppressed. This accomplishes excellent discharging performance and self-discharging property without increase in the internal resistance and eliminates drop of the capacity at a comparatively small cyclic number.
