Abstract:

To avoid occurrence of beat when an abnormality where output torque substantially decreases occurs in one cylinder of a multi-cylinder internal combustion engine, by controlling output torque of the other cylinder and using an electric motor together.

When the abnormality where output torque substantially decreases occurs in one cylinder of the multi-cylinder internal combustion engine, the output torques of a plurality of cylinders including the cylinder in question is controlled so that regular waveforms of the variation of output torques following progression of rotation of a crankshaft are generated in a constant interval. In the case of a hybrid car, an electric motor assists the above function.
