An accelerator pedal reaction force characteristic switching unit is provided with a normal reaction force spring and an added reaction force spring; and when the risk potential exceeds a predetermined value, it combines an electromagnetic clutch, to make the accelerator pedal work spring force of the normal reaction force spring and the added reaction force spring act as a reaction force. Here, an engine characteristic change device changes the characteristics of the engine output, with respect to an accelerator pedal operation amount, according to the relative relation with the preceding vehicle.
