Abstract:
To suppress the occurrence of smoke and an increase of noises when the rate of residual exhaust gas increases in a compression ignition internal combustion engine A in which fuel injected and supplied into a cylinder A2 by a fuel injection valve A8 is compressed and ignited while part of the exhaust gas resides in the cylinder after combustion and the rate of the residual exhaust gas is controlled to increase/reduce depending on a load change.
When the rate of the residual exhaust gas increases, fuel injection by the fuel injection valve A8 is controlled to be separated into main injection and preliminary or previous injection prior to the main injection by a crank angle as necessary.
