To provide an operation control device for an elevator also serving for a wheelchair in which unnecessary wheelchair operation is stopped to switch it to normal operation when a general passenger erroneously operates a wheelchair button, and operation efficiency is improved.
The operation control device for the elevator also serving as the wheelchair performs the wheelchair operation having a door opening time longer than the normal operation and door closing speed slower than the normal operation with regard to a call from a wheelchair landing button and a wheelchair car button, and has a photoelectric device 7 comprising one or two sets of light projectors and light receivers which generate a photoelectric beam pattern for discriminating between the general passenger and the wheelchair passenger by length of a stop time, and a wheelchair operation releasing means 1b for stopping the wheelchair operation to switch it to the normal operation when operation of the wheelchair landing button and the wheelchair car button by the general passenger is determined from comparison between condition of the call by the operation of a general landing button 8, a general car button 10, the wheelchair landing button 9 and the wheelchair car button 11 and the photoelectric beam pattern of the photoelectric device.
