PURPOSE: To enable indoor electric machinery and apparatus, such as an air conditioner, to be kept ready to operate for a necessary time even if a card is drawn off in a system in which the electric machinery and apparatus is turned ON or OFF by an insertion or drawing off of the card.
CONSTITUTION: In the case of an air conditioner, for example, a card reader 3 is connected to an indoor unit 1, and if a card 7 is inserted into the card reader 3, a self-maintaining circuit 11 in the indoor unit 1 turns ON a power source circuit 15. By this, the indoor unit 1 comes to be ready to operate. When the card 7 is drawn out of the card reader 3, the self-maintaining circuit 11 keeps the power source circuit 15 ON until a prescribed delay time elapses after the drawing of the card 7 out of the card reader 3, and only after the delay time has elapsed, turns OFF the power source circuit 15, whereby the indoor unit 1 comes to be unable to operate.
