PURPOSE: To prevent insufficient starting or runaway of engine by providing a detector for monitoring the operating condition of fuel pump rack in Diesel engine.
CONSTITUTION: Fuel pump in Diesel engine will regulate fuel supply through the fuel pump by sliding a fuel pump rack 1. Said rack 1 is coupled while interlocking to the governor 2 of Diesel engine through an yoke lever shaft 3 and an yoke lever 4. Here, a cam 5 is provided at the joint A between said bar 4 and shaft 3 to support a detection springboard 6 contacting against said cam 5 by means of a Piezo element 7 and to arrange in the way through a tensile spring 8 such that the supporting point of said springboard 6 will be at the point B. The pushing load of the Piezo element 7 against the referential face is varied with correspondence to the positional variation of the rack 1 and the bar 4 and to monitor the operation of rack 1 through the output signal.
