Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a thermal transfer material having a high transfer density without dimness in images by adding coloring matter with ethylene imino group to a coloring matter layer and active hydrogen compound to an image receiving layer, in a thermal transfer material consisting of coloring matter donating material having the coloring layer and image receive material having the image receiving layer on a support body.

CONSTITUTION: A thermal transfer material is made of a coloring matter donating material having a coloring matter layer on a support body and an image receiving material having an image receiving layer in the support body. The thermal transfer coloring matter donating material is superposed on the thermal transfer image receiving material on which heat energy dependent on image information is applied by heat means such as a thermal head from either of the faces, so that the coloring matter of a coloring matter donating layer can be transferred to the thermal transfer material depending on magnitude of the heat energy. The thermal transfer material contains the coloring matter having ethylene imino group in the coloring matter layer and an active hydrogen compound in the image receiving layer. By using the coloring matter having the ethylene imino group reactive to the active hydrogen compound, the coloring matter transferred to the image receiving layer reacts to ring-opening so as to be highly polymerized.
