Abstract:
To provide an operation member position detection device capable of detecting a position of an operation member with a simple configuration.SOLUTION: An operation member position detection device 1 comprises a camera 2 and a control device 3. The camera 2 picks up at least one or more images of an operation member L. In the camera 2, a light E1 of a wavelength of an infrared region that is emitted by a light-emitting element 22 is reflected by the operation member L, and a light-receiving element 23 receives reflected light E2 by the operation member L, thereby generating image data ID including distance information that is a depth direction to the operation member L. Based on the image data ID that is generated by the camera 2, the control device 3 then discriminates a position of the operation member L in a vertical direction or a horizontal direction or a position that is tilted in the depth direction in relative to a support part P. Namely, the control device 3 discriminates an operation member state that is a state of the operation member L in relative to the support part P. In accordance with the operation member state that is discriminated by the control device 3, various functions of an on-vehicle unit are operated.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
