Abstract:
The piston device comprises two guided pistons (9,11) of different cross sections, In one position, their endfaces (9b,11a) are in contact. A pressure cell (30,15a-c) is filled with hydraulic fluid to transmit force between the pistons. A reservoir (20) and channel (25) enable the amount of fluid in the cell to be altered. This is done by forcing hydraulic fluid through the channel, which is connected to the pressure cell, controlled by one of the pistons, which in a certain position cuts off the inflow of hydraulic fluid. This in turn enables the force transmitted between the pistons to be controlled.
