Title:
OPERATION OF SMELTING FURNACE FOR NON-FERROUS METAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2000345247
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To realize a matte quality near a target value by predicting the present matte quality and thereby modifying an operating condition.

This method of operating a smelting furnace for non-ferrous metal is implemented by measuring copper loss in slag taken out from a slag hole and measuring the copper grade in the matte taken out from a matte hole, and accumulating these measured values to obtain a correlation. The present copper grade is predicted by measuring the copper loss in the slag taken out during the actual smelting and then the operation is executed so that the matte grade thereafter approaches the target value.
