PURPOSE: To provide an operation speed test device for governor of an elevator which can be tested easily, accurately, and safely without necessitating any technical skill.

CONSTITUTION: A fixing bolt 21 to fit to a governor main body is screwed into a bent part 20a at both ends of a fitting 20. Also one end of a supporting plate 23 is connected rotatably to the fitting 20, and a mounting table 24 is connected rotatably to the other end of the supporting plate 23. Then a test motor 25 and a tachometer 9 are installed on the mounting table 24, and first and second pulleys 26 and 21 which are made in contact with the outer periphery of a rope pulley to transmit power are connected to the rotating shafts of the test motor 25 and tachometer 9, respectively. Between the other end of the support plate 23 and the fitting 20, a pulling spring 28 and a turnbuckle 29 are installed to maintain a pressing force on each pulley.
