Abstract:

To provide an operation support device and ship, which can sufficiently reduce fuel consumption.

The operation support device includes: a communication device 11 for obtaining peripheral marine weather data during ship navigation; an individual ship performance database 8 for storing individual ship performance of an ordinary water performance of the ship under the influence of smooth water, an in-wave performance of the ship under the influence of waves and an in-wind performance of the ship under the influence of wind; and an optimum state estimating means for estimating a minimum state of fuel economy which is the fuel consumption in navigation based on the marine weather data obtained by the communication device 11 and the ordinary water performance, in-wave performance and in-wind performance stored in the individual ship performance database 8.
