To provide an ophthalmic apparatus capable obtaining high-quality images of the fundus oculi at various depths.
The ophthalmic apparatus 1 can project three kinds of indices for focusing of a red color split index, a green color split index, and a green color split index. The apparatus 1 for imaging fundus oculi has three light sources 141R, 141G, 141B for outputting the beams of light of wavelength bands corresponding to three primary color components of R, G, B for projecting these split indices. The apparatus 1 for imaging fundus oculi projects the split index according the specified primary color component to the fundus oculus Ef when any one of the primary color components is specified. The focusing to the fundus oculus Ef can be executed referring to the split indices. When the focusing is completed, the apparatus 1 for imaging fundus oculi applies imaging illumination light to the fundus oculus Ef, receives the imaging illumination light reflected at the fundus oculus and produces image data of the specified primary color component.
