To provide an ophthalmic solution wherein pranoprofen and a cationic drug are compounded, which stably contains chlorobutanol over time and does not result in precipitation of pranoprofen nor clouding even when chlorobutanol is used as an antiseptic.
The ophthalmic solution with a pH of ≥5 and ≤6.5 wherein pranoprofen and the cationic drug are compounded is prepared through (a) a step wherein an aqueous solution of pranoprofen is obtained by adjusting pH of pranoprofen to ≥6.8 with a pH adjuster and dissolving pranoprofen, (b) a step wherein the cationic drug or its aqueous solution is added to and uniformly mixed with the aqueous solution of pranoprofen and (c) a step wherein pH of the aqueous solution obtained in step (b) is adjusted to ≥5 and ≤6.5 with a pH adjuster.
