To enable a suitable image to be displayed with a monitor for displaying an electronically imaged image without necessity of a troublesome operation by suitably automatically switching the display of the monitor.

An ophthalmologic examination apparatus has: the monitor 29 for monitoring to display the imaged image of a static image imaging means or a dynamic image imaging means; and a sensor 45 for detecting whether a CCD unit 31 or a Polaroid unit 32 is mounted as the static image imaging means. The dynamic image imaged by a CCD camera 36 is displayed on the monitor 29 except the imaging period under the control of the imaging program 42 of a control unit 40. When the unit 31 is detected by the sensor 45, the static image imaged by the unit 31 is automatically displayed on the monitor 29 immediately after the static image is imaged. Thereafter, after a set time of a display time setting means 49 is elapsed under the full automatic control, the monitor is reset to the dynamic image display.
