Title:
OPHTHALMIC APPARATUS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2017074484
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect and measure geographic atrophy of the eye by imaging the eye at a depth greater than the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) at a plurality of locations of the eye, using OCT.SOLUTION: Data acquisition means of an ophthalmic apparatus according to an embodiment acquires optical coherence tomography (OCT) data of a subject's eye including data of the subject's eye at a depth greater than the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) and intensities of imaging signals backscattered by each of a plurality of tissue layers in the subject's eye. Ratio determination means determines ratios, the ratios being a first portion of the intensity of the backscattered imaging signal of at least a portion of a retinal layer with respect to the intensity of a second portion of the backscattered imaging signal of at least a portion of a sub-RPE layer. Representative value determination means determines representative values on the basis at least of the determined ratios. Classification means phenotypically classifies or classifies the subject on the basis at least of part of the determined representative values. Identification means identifies diseased areas of the subject on the basis at least of part of the determined ratios and/or the determined representative values.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
