To provide an opposite type disc brake for suppressing braking noises by reducing a gap between a torque receiving portion and a pressure receiving portion of a liner independently of manufacturing dispersion between lots.
The opposite type disc brake 1 comprises a pad 5, an aluminum caliper 2, and the liner 4. The liner 4 has a fixed portion 4a fixed to the torque receiving portion 2e of the caliper 2, bent portions 4d, 4e extending from the fixed portion 4a after bent, and the pressure receiving portions 4b, 4c extending from the bent portions 4d, 4e. The torque receiving portion 2e has a recess 2f for storing the fixed portion 4a and the bent portions 4d, 4e, torque receiving faces 2i, 2j on which the pressure receiving portions 4b, 4c abut with the spring force of the bent portions 4d, 4e, and an escape groove 2g formed between the recess 2f and the torque receiving face 2i for receiving a base end 4b1 of the pressure receiving portion 4b.
