Title:
OPPOSED TYPE DISC BRAKE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH08254228
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve operation feeling of a brake pedal by separating a brake housing into a support part which is a torque receiver due to frictional pads and a caliper which has a pressing device, and connecting a circumferential end of a rotor of a caliper to the support part.

CONSTITUTION: Frictional pads 14, 16 which are in contact with a rotor 12 are dragged by the rotor 12 and going to rotate in a circumferential direction. A projection 22 on the side of rotor rotating side is strongly pressed against a bottom surface of a guide groove 26 which is an anchor of a support 18. Brake torque received by the support 18 is transmitted to wheels through a brake installation surface S of the support 18. A caliper 36 only receives pad pressing force of a piston 46, not receiving the brake torque from the frictional pads 14, 16. As a result, deformation of the caliper 36 housing the piston 46 is prevented. Hydraulic pressure fluctuation accompanied with the deformation of the caliper is eliminated unlikely to a conventional case. Operation feeling of a brake pedal is improved.
