Title:
OPTICAL ADDITION-EXTRACTION MULTIPLEXER FOR OPTICAL COMMUNICATION NETWORK
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2714937
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tunable addition-extraction multiplexer having an excellent extinction ratio in reflection.
SOLUTION: This device 10 includes a pair of interference filters 11, 12 that are nominally the same, and one filter performs a function of drawing out carrier wave from wavelength split multiple streams, while the other filter performs an inserting function. The filters 11, 12 are arranged within planes parallel to each other so that the streams go out from the device 10 even after being reflected by both filters, and fixed to both opposed faces of a transparent plate 13. The transparent plate 13 is mounted on a support body 14, and this support body 14 can be rotated in both directions in order to change the tuning wavelength of the filters 11, 12.
