Abstract:
To provide an improved rare-earth doped fiber amplifier and a particularly improved erbium doped fiber amplifier for their various uses and demands.
This fiber amplifier is an optical amplifier using a Raman pump imparting various desired characteristics while reducing the noise figure. By utilizing the desired characteristics, the Raman pumped optical amplifier is used in a high density WDM communication system.
