Title:
OPTICAL AXIS ALIGNING STAGE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH04175708
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce and release the friction resistance of a holder contact face by closely sticking and pressing the first holder holding a semiconductor laser and the second holder holding an optical fiber on end faces perpendicular to the optical axis, and finely vibrating one of the first and second holders with a piezoelectric element in the optical axis direction at a high frequency. CONSTITUTION:The first holder 6 holding a semiconductor laser and having an end face perpendicular to the optical axis and the second holder 5 holding an optical fiber 4 and having an end face perpendicular to the optical axis are closely stuck and pressed on the end faces perpendicular to the optical axis to perform the optical axis alignment. A holder chuck 1 holding either one of the first holder 6 and the second holder 5 fixed on X, Y-stages 2, 3, a piezoelectric element 8 fixed on a Z-stage 7, and a fixing jig 10 holding the remaining one of the first holder 6 and the second holder 5 supported on the piezoelectric element 8 via an arm are provided. The piezoelectric element 8 applies vibration in the axial direction to the fixing jig 10 when the optical axis is aligned. The friction resistance of the holder contact face can be reduced, and the shift quantity due to the rotating motion can be minimized.
