PURPOSE: To provide the optical band-pass filter which has less dependency of the transmittance in the rising part or falling part of a pass band on polarized light.

CONSTITUTION: This optical band-pass filter is formed by laminating plural base body blocks via connecting layers on an optical substrate. Each of the basic blocks consists of a cavity layer arranged at its center and multilayered reflection films formed by alternately and symmetrically arranging high- refractive index layers and low-refractive index layers on both sides of the cavity layer. The optical film thicknesses of the cavity layers are set by shifting these thicknesses by a prescribed quantity from λ0/2 when the central wavelength of the pass band is defined as λ0.
