Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the same local bending in response to the same pressure with the looseness and flexibility of an optical fiber when assigning the optical fiber local bending corresponding to pressure.
SOLUTION: An inner cylinder pipe 7 with a flange 9 at the center which has a primary coated optical fiber 2 inserted into a through-hole 8 and integrally fixed thereto is partly inserted into a through-hole 11 in an outer cylinder pipe 10 with a flange 12 at one end. The flange 9 and the outer cylindrical pipe 10 are connected together via a coil spring 6, the flange 12 is fixed to the side face of a support 1, the tensioned optical fiber 2 is fixed to the other side face of the support 1 and a projector 3 and a stator 4 opposing each other are arranged with the tensed optical fiber 2 therebetween to assign local bending thereto.
