Title:
OPTICAL CARD SUBSTRATE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH04177627
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To give an optical card sufficient strength against an external force applied to the card at the time of manufacture and carrying the card, improve optical characteristics such as transparency and, further, eliminate an intermediate layer by a method wherein the substrate of the card is made of methacrylic resin containing required content of rubber component.

CONSTITUTION: An optical card substrate is made of methacrylic resin containing 0.1-30wt.% of rubber component. As the rubber component, polymer material having a rubber elasticity under a room temperature is used. More concretely, ester acrylate family such as ethyl acrylate, n-propyl acrylate, n-butyl acrylate or diethylhexyl acrylate is used as the main component and aromatic vinyl compound such as stylene or substituted stylene family, allyl methacrylate, methaallyl methacrylate or the like is contained if necessary. Or, conjugate diene family such as 1,3-butadiene or isoprene is used as the main component and ester methacrylate family, aromatic vinyl compound or the like is contained if necessary.
