Abstract:

To achieve power saving by suppressing useless power consumption even when optical paths of optical qualities at various levels are mixed.

A node device is provided which transmits a transmission frame formed by adding overhead and error correcting codes to information data, the node device includes an error-correction decoding circuit for performing iterative decoding processing on an error-correcting code in the received transmission frame, wherein the error-correction decoding circuit is configured by cascading a plurality decoders each comprising an inner code decoder, a deinterleaver and an outer code decoder and when all error bits in the transmission frame are corrected before the predetermined number of repetitions (maximum number of times) preset while assuming worst quality, error-correcting operations of the subsequent decoders are suspended and not performed.
