A service station 100x outputs an optical signal resulting from applying intensity modulation to a carrier with a prescribed frequency by a carrier modulation signal of an outgoing electric signal, receives an incoming electric signal resulting from intensity modulation applied to an optical signal from a photocoupler 1021 by a prescribed carrier, the photocoupler 1021 composites optical signals from the service station 100x, branches the optical signal from a wavelength router 1020, the wavelength router 1020 branches and outputs the optical signal corresponding to the wavelength of the optical signal from the photocoupler 1021 and multiplexes the optical signals from a terminal 101y, the terminal station 101y extracts a desired outgoing electric signal from the optical signal from the wavelength router 1020, and outputs the optical signal subjected to intensity modulation of the carrier modulation signal of the incoming electric signal by using the carrier with a prescribed wavelength and a prescribed frequency.
