To provide an optical connector that preferably transmits light by desirably eliminating such trouble that loss of transmitted light is generated by reducing flexure of an insert optical fiber flexed to make tips of an internal optical fiber and the insert optical fiber securely abut against each other.
The optical connector includes a cover body 40 pivoted to rotate between a standby position where an anchor member 60 is enabled to approach a connector main body 10 and a holding position where the anchor member 60 is set and held. On an internal surface of the cover body 40, an abutting projection part 43 which abuts against a tip-side wall surface of the anchor member 60 is provided to project, and when the cover body 40 rotates from the standby position to the holding position, the abutting projection part 43 abuts against the tip-side wall surface of the anchor member 60 to push and move the anchor member 60 backward.
