To provide an optical connector capable of suppressing deterioration of mechanical strength while suppressing bending of a coated optical fiber.
An optical connector 1 is attached to a drop cable 2 which is obtained by covering a coated optical fiber 3 with a cable jacket 5. The optical connector 1 comprises a jacket fixing part 8 for fixing the cable jacket 5 in a state of covering the coated optical fiber 3, a mechanical splice part 9 for fixing a glass fiber 6 exposed from a coating part 7 of the coated optical fiber 3 in a state exposed from the cable jacket 5, a ferrule 10 incorporating an optical fiber F connected to the glass fiber 6 which is fixed to the mechanical splice part 9 and a connection member 11 for connecting the jacket fixing part 8 and the ferrule 10. In the optical connector 1, the mechanical splice part 9 is accommodated in the connection member 11 in a positioned state to the jacket fixing part 8 and the ferrule 10.
