Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an optical connector capable of surely carrying out PC connection even in the case of connecting a multiple-fiber.
CONSTITUTION: As for the optical connector 1 for positioning and fixing the end faces of optical fibers 4 on the connection end face 5 of an optical connector ferrule 3, positioning and bringing the connection end faces 5 into tight contact with each other and optically connecting the optical fibers 4 together, at least, the connection end face 5 of the optical connector ferrule 3 is constituted of a low-hardness member having a hardness lower than that of the optical fiber 4 and having Young's modulus lower than that of the optical connector ferrule and that of the optical fiber 4.
