To satisfy connector performance against the impression of external force such as file tension and to facilitate maintenance check by independently functioning a spring for ferrule pressure impression and a spring for providing bayonet holding power.
A ferrule 1 of an optical connector plug is inserted into the center hole of a receptacle 9 in the state of receiving the pressure of a spring 2. By bonding a holder 3 with the receptacle 9, the fixing positions of the ferrule 1 and holder 3 are decided. The bayonet fitting of a connection sleeve 5 with a projection 10 of the receptacle 9 is performed in the state of shrinking a compression coil spring 7. By freely setting the spring force of the compression coil spring 7, sufficient fitting holding power against external force impression can be provided. At such a time, since the fitting of the projection 10 to an outer peripheral groove 6 of the connection sleeve 5 can be visually confirmed, it can be judted with no contact that an optical connector is normally functioned.
