Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain the optical coupling structure which is superior in the guide stability of an optical fiber array and provides highefficiency optical coupling. CONSTITUTION:An optical element array 101 is fixed on a submount 102, which is fixed to a mount 103. The optical fiber array 104 is optically coupled with the optical element array 102 and supported by a guide 105 and a V-groove guide 106. The optical fiber array 104 is arrayed and fixed to the V-groove guide 106 and the tip part of the optical fiber array 104 is machined into a spherical tip lens, which is fitted in a tapered through hole formed in the guide 105. The mount 103 and guide 105, the mount 103 and a package 107, the V- groove guide 106 and package 107 are fixed by fixing materials 108, 109, and 110 respectively.
