Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device capable of eliminating restriction on the deign and arrangement of colors, reducing cost, achieving high strength, selecting a detection method freely, and coping with a failure of an element.
SOLUTION: A filter 23C is formed at the peripheral fringe of a transparent plate 23 of this optical detection device by enlarging it to a light emitting element 6 and a light receiving element 7 side integrally. The filter 23C prevents the intrusion of unnecessary light from the outside into each element 6, 7, and its upper side face is bonded to a protection cover 21 over a wide area. A colored part of color matching the appearance of the device is provided on the inner side of the filter 23C. A pair of elements in one direction and the other direction are selectively driven by a selection means to suppress the frequency of use of each element. The element adjacent to the element causing a failure is operated instead of the element causing a failure by an adjacent element operating means to increase a resistance force against a failure in a part and improve reliability.
