Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain an optical device using a spatial light modulator(SLM) which generates an electric signal upon catching an image. CONSTITUTION: An SLM 11 is composed of an array of picture elements which can be switched individually and, when the picture elements are switched to 'ON' positions, they reflect light toward a sensor. When each picture element is switched to the 'ON' position, the light from the picture element is directed to the sensor 15. The sensor 15 generates a signal which is proportional to the light related to each picture element to each picture element. As a result, a series of signals indicating at least one image frame are generated. Therefore, a moving image is generated by repeating the above-mentioned process to many image frames.
