To provide an optical device capable of rapidly switching the motor- driving/manually driving state of a driving mechanism for driving a movable part without requiring special operation and avoiding failure that excessive load is imposed on a motor at the time of manually operating the movable part when the driving mechanism is set in a motor-driving state.

This optical device is provided with the driving mechanisms (9, 14 and 15, etc.), which can be switched and set to a state for motor-driving the movable part 1 constituting an optical system and a state for driving it manually. In such a case, the device is provided with a control means 22 switching the driving mechanism to the state where the movable part is manually driven according as operation for driving the movable part manually is performed when the driving mechanism is set in the state where the movable part is motor-driven.
