Title:
OPTICAL DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6484206
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To take more light in by shaping the incident surface of an optical fiber coupler in conformity with the shape of the radiation surface of a lens.

CONSTITUTION: This device is equipped with a compound lens 4 having a convex radiation surface 5, to which a short optical fiber 6 is adhered with optical cement. The optical fiber 6 has a left-side (incidence) surface curved corresponding to the curvature of an image surface matching the radiation surface 5. The right-side (radiation) surface of the optical fiber 6 is plane and in surface contact with the photosensitive plane of a camera 2. This lens can, therefore, be designed so as to form a curved image, namely, obtain a large numerical aperture. Consequently, as more light as possible can be taken in without generating any aberration or lowering the resolution.
