Abstract:
PURPOSE: To surely correct the defects occurring in switching elements.
CONSTITUTION: The liquid crystal layer side of one light transparent substrate is provided with plural picture element electrodes 3, gate and source bus lines 14, 15 impressed with display signals and plural TFT elements 4 for supplying/ shutting off display signals to these picture element electrodes 3. Identification patterns 16 to 21 which identify the plural TFT elements 4 are respectively formed at the gate bus lines 14, 15. The identification patterns 16 to 18 and the identification patterns 19 to 21 vary in the kinds of the adjacent identification patterns from each other. Whether the TFT elements 4 of the recognition region are the TFT elements to be corrected or not is judged at the time of correcting such liquid crystal display device. The moving direction of the stage on which the liquid crystal display device is placed is judged in accordance with the identification patterns and the stage is moved by as much as the length of the recognition region parallel with this direction when the TFT elements 4 is not the TFT to be corrected.
