Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply a stable tracking control to a DVD-RAM.
SOLUTION: The optical disk device capable of reproducing the DVD-RAM is provided with a PPTE signal generator 11 generating push-pull tracking error signals, a high-pass filter 12 cutting the low frequency components of the PPTE signals, a CAPA balance error signal generator 13 detecting reflected light from a CAPA 29 arranged in a staggered shape in the preceding stage and poststage of one header area 26 and generating CAPA balance error signals CBE, a low-pass filter 14 cutting the high frequency components of the CAPA balance error signals CBE, a track acquisition detector 15 detecting whether or not a track is acquired by a beam spot 23 and a main control part 20 selecting either synthetic tracking error signals for which the PPTE signals and the CAPA balance error signals are superimposed or PPTE signals.
