To provide an optical disk device which can secure heat dissipation characteristics, while reducing adverse influence caused due to foreign materials such as dust and dirt.
The optical disk device 1 includes: a casing 11; a tray 20 on which an optical disk is mounted and which is housed in the casing 11 to be drawn out of the casing 11; an optical pickup 33 which is prepared movably to a radial direction of the optical disk held in the casing 11 and irradiates the optical disk with light; and a first motor 31 turning around the optical disk held in the casing 11. The casing 11 is provided with a frontage 12 which communicates the inside and outside of the casing 11 and inhales external air inward by rotation of the optical disk. The optical pickup 33 is attached with a shutter part 52 which makes a range covering the frontage 12 variable by moving with the optical pickup 33.
