Abstract:
PURPOSE:To execute a track jump without being influenced by the speed of an optical pickup by always estimating the number of moving tracks until a stop in the case deceleration is started, based on the speed of the pickup, and also, calculating the number of remaining tracks and starting the deceleration. CONSTITUTION:A track crossing signal generated whenever a track is crossed is applied to a count signal generating circuit 8, the speed V of the present optical pickup 2 is calculated therefrom, and in the case the optical pickup 2 which is moving at the speed V starts deceleration at prescribed acceleration, the number N of tracks crossed in a deceleration period until it stops is calculated. Subsequently, a control circuit 7 always calculates the number N of tracks in the course of track jump operation, and also, calculates also the number of remaining tracks, and compares them and when they become equal, a track jump circuit 6 is controlled so that the pickup 2 starts deceleration. In such a manner, a track jump can be executed stably without being influenced by the speed of the optical pickup 2.
