PURPOSE: To provide an optical disk driving device capable of detecting the linear speed of a currently using optical disk at the first time of accessing, correcting the number of tracks in accordance with its linear speed at the second time and after and shortening accessing time.

CONSTITUTION: This device is program-controlled so as to calculate the number of moving tracks and to move an optical head to the number of tracks when accessing to a position on an optical disk 1 where a desired time is recorded and provided with an error detecting means 6, a linear speed detecting means 7 and a data correcting means 9. Then, by the error detecting means a shift in the number of tracks between the position where a movement is made based on calculation and the position where the desired time is recorded and based on the amount of the error the linear speed of the used disk is detected by the linear speed detecting means. Thus, at the next time of accessing and after, based on the linear speed the calculated value of the number of moving tracks is corrected by a data correcting means.
