PURPOSE: To edit large data such as audio and image freely by providing a generation part for generating two reference clocks, namely a clock for servo and a clock for data from a reproduction signal to an optical disk device.
CONSTITUTION: A spiral track 20, a track address 21, and a disk ID 40 are pre-formatted in recessed and projecting shapes of a substrate on an optical disk medium 10. A pre-formatted servo mark 100 is laid out radially from the center of the optical disk medium 10 with a constant rotary angular density which does not depend on a zone as in the CAV system. Even when an optical head passes the boundary of two zones with mutually different specified number of revolutions, the reproduction timing of the servo mark 100 changes continuously along with the change in the number of revolutions of the disk, thus following the servo mark constantly and allowing the track to follow an optical beam. The data recording density is allowed to change for each zone independently of the servo mark.
